Campus Transportation

The University collaborates with the Town of Chapel Hill to provide free bus transportation on-campus and throughout the town. For information and maps, visit http://move.unc.edu/transit/. Additionally, UNC Public Safety provides rides through their Point-to-Point program. For more information about the Point-to-Point program, visit http://move.unc.edu/p2p/.

Getting around campus is easy. There are lots of safe, well-lit walking trails. If your student prefers not to walk or walking is not an option, we have campus buses and shuttles, bicycle paths and racks, and even Zipcars for rent at discounted student rates.

Parking Policy

First-year students are prohibited from parking motor vehicles on campus unless exceptional circumstances warrant it. Parking for students and employees of the University requires a permit from the Department of Public Safety. Permits must be prominently displayed in your car, and cost varies depending on location.
