Strategic Plan and Assessment

Welcome to the Strategic Plan webpage of Carolina Housing, where our vision for the future of on-campus living unfolds.

At Carolina Housing, we pride ourselves on our commitment to inclusivity, safety, support, quality, and learning. Our strategic plan embodies these core values, serving as a roadmap for crafting a world-class on-campus living experience tailored to the needs and aspirations of our diverse student body.

Rooted in comprehensive research and driven by data, our strategic plan is not merely a document but a dynamic framework designed to meet the evolving needs of modern students. Whether our residents come from bustling cities or tranquil towns, from across the nation or around the globe, they bring with them a rich array of cultures, identities, and dreams.

As we embark on this journey, our mission is to create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community where every student feels valued, empowered, and inspired to thrive. Through data, collaboration, and a relentless commitment to our student residents, we will continue to elevate the standard of on-campus living at Carolina.

Voice Into Action

Formed in 2018 by Carolina Housing's Dr. Ashley Gray, Voice Into Action is a cornerstone initiative that prioritizes student resident advocacy by providing a comprehensive means of receiving data and feedback from students themselves.

Dr. Gray is the Associate Director of Assessment and Strategic Initiatives for Carolina Housing. In her role, she prides herself as a champion of marginalized groups and bringing upon positive, equitable changes for the entirety of the campus community.

One way Dr. Gray fulfills this mission is by utilizing advanced technology through assessments and surveys that collect anonymous data helping guide Carolina Housing's long-term strategic plans.

Each year via email, student residents at UNC Chapel Hill receive the Voice Into Action Survey. It is important to note that the data collected from the survey is entirely anonymous, not being tied to any one individual student, and industry-standard security measures are implemented to ensure the protection of such data.

Dr. Gray analyzes survey feedback and then develops action plans and advocates for students to key stakeholders at the highest levels of the university. The action plans also guide Carolina Housing's strategic improvement plans, publicly available on our website.

Every student living on campus should know that their voice truly does matter. We hope to hear from you.
