Assistant Director for Educational Partnerships and Initiatives

The Assistant Director for Educational Partnerships and Initiatives in Carolina Housing plays a vital role in the development and nurturing of meaningful partnerships and initiatives that enhance Residential Education efforts. This position provides supervision for four (4) full-time Community Directors and is responsible for curating and fostering collaborations with campus stakeholders centered on strengthening student resilience and personal growth. By cultivating and sustaining these strategic partnerships, the Assistant Director ensures the residential experience is enriched with innovative initiatives that span a wide range of disciplines, fostering a vibrant living and learning environment.
 
This role prioritizes collaboration to address the evolving needs of our residential population. The Assistant Director provides leadership for key residential learning initiatives, including but not limited to: Carolina Housing Residential Learning Programs, specialized residential spaces (e.g., art studio, gaming arena, escape room), BeAM (Be A Maker) Initiative, and Fulbright Residence Scholars Program. These initiatives are designed to promote personal growth, enhance resilience-building skills, and cultivate a welcoming, learning-centered residential community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to understanding and supporting all students’ experiences and perspectives, possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
 
As a member of the Residential Education Leadership Team, the Assistant Director also participates in the second level, campus-wide on-call crisis response rotation for Carolina Housing, contributing to the safety and well-being of our residential community. This position reports to the Associate Director for Residential Learning.
