Important Message from UNC Police & Carolina Housing - Residence Hall Walk Throughs

*****For On-Campus residents with APPROVED Special Circumstances Waivers *****

Dear Resident,

We hope that you are doing well during this time.

As the current pandemic situation unfolds, we continue to identify additional ways to promote safety and security on campus.  To this end, our UNC Police officers will be conducting walking patrols through all residential buildings. The purpose of these patrols is to provide additional security for residents who are approved to remain on campus.

During these walk-throughs:

  • UNC Police Officers will be engaging with anyone they see in the hallways.
  • Because you are approved to stay, all you need to do is
    • share your PID
    • and show identification, as requested. As a reminder, you should carry your University ID at all times

In our past emails, we have shared that guests are not permitted in the buildings at this time.  This means that any students not approved to live on campus who are encountered during the walk-throughs will be asked to leave the residence halls.  Any individuals unaffiliated with the University who are encountered will be subject to arrest and/or trespass from campus

We appreciate your continued cooperation and understanding as we work to keep our campus community as safe and healthy as possible.  Please take care of yourselves.

Thank you,
UNC Police & Carolina Housing
