Welcome Future Tar Heels: Your Journey Begins at Orientation!

By: Cierra Tadda

Attending orientation is the first step in your exciting journey here at Carolina! As you prepare to make UNC your home, we are thrilled to introduce you to some of the amazing resources and experiences waiting for you on campus. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with two of our incredible marketing interns, Rose Alade and Christina Ahn, who shared their insights regarding living on campus, the dynamic organizations they’re involved in, and their top tips for first-year students. Get ready to make the most of your time with Carolina Housing!

Meet Our Interns

Rose Alade

Rose is a rising junior who has experienced life on both North and South Campus. Her involvement in multiple campus organizations showcases her vibrant campus life. Rose is a member of Carolina Housing’s Conference Services and Marketing Teams, works at the Cashier’s Office, serves as a Resident Advisor (RA), and is part of both the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) and Phi Alpha Delta. At our orientation sessions, Rose enjoys providing students and parents with the clarity they’ve been seeking all summer long regarding on-campus living.

Christina Ahn

Christina, also a rising junior, has spent her entire Carolina career living on South Campus. Like Rose, she is actively involved on campus, serving on Carolina Housing's Conference Services and Marketing Teams and working at the Cashier’s Office. Christina says her favorite part about living on campus is, “The people and the community that I have found within, and the experiences I’ve been able to have living in those communities.”

Tips for First-Year Students

At Carolina Housing’s orientation session, be sure to stop by our table to introduce yourself! Our interns love sharing their experiences and can help answer any questions you have about being a first-year student. Rose and Christina recommend putting yourself out there during the first week of school and attending all the events during Week of Welcome. You never know where you’ll meet your future best friend or roommate!
