Keep it Fresh: Leave the Washer Door Open!

September 13, 2024 |

By: Alice Scott, Fall 2024 Marketing Intern

Ensuring a positive on-campus living experience is one of our main priorities here at Carolina Housing. Because of this, we try to keep all of our amenities in top-notch condition so that residents can use and enjoy them to their full extent.

It has recently come to our attention that there is an issue in some of our facilities, our laundry rooms, that is making them less functional and pleasant. What we’ve noticed is that washing machine doors are being closed when residents finish doing their laundry. This can cause mold and bad odor in the washers. It can even ruin the machines.

We’re here to offer a solution! Leave washing machine doors open after washing your clothes.

It’s a simple process, really. When your load of laundry is done, remove your clothes from the washing machine. Once the machine is empty, leave the door open, so that it can air out after the wash cycle.

This small action will keep the washers clean and smelling fresh, making our laundry rooms more enjoyable for all residents!
