Fall Move-In is just around the corner! At Carolina Housing, we’re preparing you for move-in week with lots of tips and resources. Your time at Carolina is going to be filled with so many different emotions, and we know moving away from home for the first time can be a little intimidating. We put together a quick video including some essential tips for your move-in day!
Staying Hydrated
If you are unfamiliar with North Carolina heat, it can be quite hot and humid in mid-August. We want to ensure that you stay hydrated, wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and eat before your move-in appointment!
Packing Tips
Packing for college is so exciting, getting to pick out your color scheme, decorations and really embrace your own space for the first time. With that in mind, we highly recommend coordinating with your roommates, the last thing you’ll want is to have two microwaves, coffee makers, or couches. Your space will feel very cluttered.
We also recommend labeling your boxes, it can be overwhelming when you unload everything into your room, having your boxes labeled can help the process go a lot smoother!
Another move-in tip is to pack an “Open First” box, fill this box with cleaning supplies, garbage bags, toilet paper, snacks, water, and anything else you may need when you first arrive in your residence hall!
