Housing Support Maintenance, a division of Building Services, is currently recruiting for Summer Maintenance Assistants. The position will last from mid-May through the end of July. Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (must be available to work entire shift). This position is responsible for assisting maintenance mechanics on campus. Position duties include changing filters, replacing tiles, replacing fixtures in residence halls and disposing of materials from projects to proper recycling or waste receptacles.

Education and Experience          

Minimum Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Requires ability to understand and follow work orders, instructions, product directions and other written job materials, and understand verbal instructions.

Special Physical and Mental Requirements         

Must be able to move objects weighing up to 50lbs. Duties include climbing and working from a ladder. Work may require strenuous physical exertion.  Employees will be required to adhere to safety requirements by wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment.
