Dear Residential Student:
As move-in approaches, we understand that many students and families are continuing to evaluate their preferred option for the Fall 2020 semester. We want to support each student in making the decision that is most appropriate to their individual circumstance. Accordingly, we are extending the deadline for any student to cancel their on-campus housing contract without penalty through 5:00 p.m. on August 7, 2020 and prior to moving in to their assigned residence hall. After August 7 or following move-in, whichever comes first, regular cancellation penalties apply as set forth in the housing contract. If you wish to cancel your housing contract, simply fill out the “Housing Cancellation” form located on the “Online Forms/Resources” tab of your MyHousing Portal.
Please note that Carolina Housing is not accepting new housing contracts nor making assignment changes at this time. This is necessary in order to properly prepare for the arrival of students. Please note that once you cancel your contract, your residence hall room may be re-assigned. For the health and wellbeing of our residents, only departmentally initiated room changes will be allowed after residents move into their rooms. Residents are encouraged to bring only the minimum number of belongings required for the semester.
Please know that we will continue to work toward providing the best – and safest – Carolina experience that we can. Should you have questions or concerns, please contact us at 919-962-5401 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
