Welcome to Odum Village—a pleasant and quiet community spread out across a large area of campus inundated with old oak trees, wooden benches, and BBQ grills. Much more than a traditional residence hall room, Odum Village offer students the opportunity to live in a full apartment (including kitchen, living room and dining area) while still residing on-campus.
Odum Village is located on South Campus, close to the business school, hospitals, student health center, and the Dean Dome. Approximately 450 students reside within the community, creating a mix of upper-class students, graduate students, international students, and transfer students. Odum Village was originally built in the 1960's as UNC's married/family student housing, but with the recent construction of Baity Hill Apartments, Odum Village apartments are now offered to full-time undergraduate and unmarried graduate students.
Today, Odum Village is home to several unique features which include: a community room that boasts one of the largest televisions of any residence community on campus, a Cyber lounge for printing, and its own package and mail distribution center. That’s not all! Odum Village is currently in the process of re-glazing the shower surrounds, tub and sink in each apartment’s bathroom. The new bathrooms are looking great and almost like new. In the fall of 2009, all units were updated with new dressers and desks.
Please feel free to stop by the community office with questions or to take a tour of a model apartment. We’d love to show you around the neighborhood! |
