Welcome to the Olde Campus Lower Quad Community! Olde Campus Lower Quad is one of the oldest residence hall communities at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Aycock, Everett, Graham, Lewis, and Stacy Halls call Lower Quad home and house approximately 500 residents. Olde Campus Lower Quad is designed to help students meet their academic and social needs by providing residents with common areas, conference rooms, television lounges, and a game room. Outside, students entertain themselves by utilizing OCLQ’s grassy quad, volleyball court, and picnic tables spread throughout the community. Also, there are tennis courts and basketball courts located right behind the community, offering students even more options in recreational activities. The OCLQ Community is situated on North Campus at the corner of Raleigh Street and Country Club Drive. It is within a five minute walk to the several academic buildings, Lenior Dining Hall, the Pit, the Union, the various libraries, the Arboretum, Franklin Street, and more!
Olde Campus Lower Quad Community features traditional, corridor-style residence halls and shared hall bathroom facilities. The community provides a unique residential experience for a diverse population of students from all academic classifications. The Olde Campus Lower Quad community is known for its social yet academically-focused environment. The RAs and community government will plan activities and events that will center around the interests of the students. On a nice sunny day, residents can be easily observed sitting, studying or playing volleyball in the quad—the best of both worlds! OCLQ is also home to the end of the year Olde Dirty Bash—an annual event that includes huge inflatables, t-shirt giveaways, free food, and live music for all students to enjoy. This particular annual event has been going on for over ten years and was started by a Carolina student who desired to strengthen community through the enjoyment of food, music, and games. Make sure you come check it out and get involved this upcoming spring! The residents within the Olde Campus Lower Quad Community become connected to their building and easily begin calling it home! We, as a community, pride ourselves on that fact that OCLQ is located just around the corner from the several opportunities that Carolina has to offer students—we only want the best for our residents!
