  • Residence halls close for non-graduating students on Wednesday, May 10 at 10:00 am
  • Graduating students can stay until Sunday, May 14 at 6:00 pm.
  • Ram Village residents can opt to sign a summer lease extension.


Move-Out Procedures

To avoid unnecessary charges at move-out, please follow the procedure outlined below:

  • You must vacate your assignment by 10:00 a.m. on May 10, 2017.
  • All items must be removed from your space. Students are not permitted to move their belongings to their fall space, or store them in their Summer space. No exceptions will be made.
  • When you are ready to check out, please come to the main office of your community between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. If you cannot check out during those time periods, notify your RA immediately.
  • At the desk, you will notify the RA that you are ready to check out, and the RA on duty will give you a copy of your RCF.
  • Return to your room, where another RA will meet you to inspect you room.
  • Upon completing the inspection, return to the community office to turn in your keys and officially check out of the space.

Prepare your room as follows prior to check-out:

  • Remove all personal property, whether you are keeping it or throwing it out. Dispose of it properly.
  • Take personal trash to dumpsters, do not leave in community.
  • Clean your floor (including removing any carpet tape/residue if you had your own carpet).
  • Remove all of your trash/discards from the building and place in appropriate containers.
  • Empty and clean your trash can and recycling tote.
  • Place all furniture and furnishings in original position and restore to proper working order, including beds.
  • Assure window screens are present and installed properly.
  • Close and lock your windows. Close blinds.
  • Defrost and clean your refrigerator if you have an RHA-issued micro-fridge.
  • Dust and clean all surfaces (desktops, dresser tops, shelves, etc.).
  • Empty and wipe clean all drawers (desk, dresser, closet shelves, etc.).
  • Remove all tape, poster putty, etc. from all surfaces (walls, doors, etc.) and assure there are no holes.
  • Clean your mirror (if applicable).
  • Return any Enhancements or checked-out items to the Community Office!

Note: If you are not ready to be checked out by the deadline, you may be considered an “Improper Check-Out.” This means that you will be charged $25, in addition to being charged for any damages assignable to you.

Bottom line: You need to remove ALL your personal property, properly restore your room to its original set-up and make it completely clean to assure a successful check-out.
At check-out

  1.  Review, sign and date your Room Condition Form. (Your RA will bring this). 
  2.  Give your room key and flex pass to the Community Office.

Other to-do items

  • Notify magazine subscriptions, creditors/bills etc. of your new mailing address. Mail will not be forwarded.
  • Take your bike with you!

Important Reminders

  • Community Standards remain in full effect until you officially check out. Violations will be dealt with promptly, regardless of the time of year, and may include referral to the Dean of Students Office. Respect for each other takes on even greater importance during final exams and building closing periods.
  • RAs are students too! They face end-of-semester projects and final exams just like you. They also have responsibilities for helping close out the semester that keep them very busy and require them to manage their time effectively.
  • There are a limited number of vacuums, brooms, etc. available at the front desk. Please plan accordingly.

You must remove all property that belongs to you, whether you are keeping it or throwing it out. Please dispose of trash properly.
