  • Resident Advisor (RA)

    What is an RA?

    The Resident Advisor (RA) is a full-time, undergraduate or graduate student who – under the supervision and direction of the Community Director – serves as an educator, counselor, administrator, role model, friend, and team member for the residents of a floor or wing in a residence hall.

    The RA works to create and maintain a healthy environment for the academic and personal growth of the students within their assigned living unit. In carrying out his or her duties, the RA is expected to treat other students, supervisors, and fellow employees with courtesy and respect.


  • Residential Computing Consultants

    RCCs provide in-room network computing support for those living in campus residence halls. In addition to their technical support, RCCs develop programs integrating technology and community in various ways.

  • Office Assistants

    Office Assistants (OAs) work to create an inclusive on-campus housing environment that promotes personal development, citizenship, involvement, and leadership through the practice of Community Immersion. OAs serve as a resource for students in their community and as a role model at UNC Chapel Hill. OAs are assigned to traditional residence halls, suite style complexes, or apartment buildings and are supervised by the Community Director (CD) and the Community Manager (CM).

    Hours of work vary based on the need of the department and community (ex: Halloween, popular sporting events, inclement weather, training, opening, closing, staff selection, unforeseen circumstances, etc.) and includes some evenings and weekends. After providing a schedule of availability, a supervisor will determine the specific work schedule. All leave time must be approved by their supervisor. OAs are required to attend all training activities while employed.  OAs are expected to work all residence hall openings and closings, including Fall semester, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Semester, Spring Break and Spring Semester/Commencement closing.

  • Residential Learning Program Student Coordinator

    As student coordinator, your primary responsibility and role is shared oversight of the operation of your Residential Learning Program with the Community Director (CD). Student coordinators have the unique opportunity to develop learning outcomes and meaningful programs in support of the Residential Learning Program mission and goals.

RAMs serve as a resource for RA staff and students in their community as well as a role model at UNC Chapel Hill.

  • Baity Hill Customer Service Representative

    Now Hiring

    The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is the first point of contact for residents and future residents of Baity Hill at Mason Farm community for student families. CSRs are constantly active: assisting customers at the front desk, responding to telephone calls and emails, showing apartments, accepting and qualifying applications, preparing lease documentation, and completing move-in paperwork and procedures.

  • Conference Assistant

    The Conference Assistant (CA) support the Coordinator for Conference Operations with planning and training for summer staff, preparation of welcome books, floor plans, creating inventory lists, and maintaining orderly storage rooms in multiple locations. CA's also work with the Assitant Coordinator for Conference Operations on upkeep of the guest apartments and special projects as directed by the Conference Operations team. Previous Conference Operations experience strongly preferred. 

  • Video Production Intern

  • Social Media Marketing Intern

    The Department of Housing & Residential Education is hiring a Social Media Marketing Intern to create digital content for our social media platforms, including: Word Press, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube.
